24 Hours of....

Over the last 24 hours a number of incidents have taken place which have made me see things in a whole new light. For one, seeing Shaun deal with the injured soccer player yesterday evening showed me that it isn't only girls he is at Uni for but he is actually learning something. Everyone associated with AFFC is proud of you.

Secondly, the accident itself was a real wake up to how accidents can really happen out there on the soccer field (pitch). There are the obvious ones like being injured getting tackled, falling and hurting yourself etc but new ones have suddenly come to light. When playing, people need to take into account their surroundings. It is easy to see how the guy got injured. He was in a hurry to retrieve the ball and burst through the curtain not knowing what was on the otherside. Was it his ignorance? Or was it his hungry-ness for success?

At work today i was left alone in the office for a little while. I felt happy because they trusted me enough to do it and to put their faith and trust in me to do the job required. Although, it was boring only having myself to talk to and Anggie when i was being naughty and chatting to her too, i felt important. One of the team.

But another thing struck me last night. When we were playing i could noticeably see the improvement in Sunny's goalkeeping. He is saving a lot more shots than he used to do and i think he will be a valuable asset to our team. As they say a team is only as good as its goalie...and if he keeps training he will continue to get better.

I'm excited about tomorrow. I am skipping work because we are going to go shopping for our Jersey's. It will be fun to hang out with the guys and Anggie again along with meetinng Sunny's friend.

I hope that everyone will support and pray for our team. We have come so far in a limited amount of time and come Friday @ 9.15pm, Leeming Rec Centre...its destiny ino our own hands...

GLORY SHALL BE OURS!!!!

Lyrics - Read and take Note

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
confusing stars with satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight.

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died.

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
would show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along.

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be.

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died.

Day of Reckoning

Today was a strange day! It started late, well much later than i had anticipated. I slept through my alarm, thus meaning i had very little time to get ready for the events of the day. Funnily enough though everything i had to do, i did.

At first i was ocntemplating ringing in sick so i didnt have to go to work as i have the flu. But something inside of me encouraged me to go...so i did. Upon arriving i heard of bad news. Jade's sister in law, Margaret was killed in a car accident over the weekend. Obviously not knowing her i was not too upset but i spared a moment for Jade as i knew they were close.

Work was non-stop. The phone never stopped ringing for very long. But on the upside the boss was there unusually to help us out in dealing with the office duties. He showed me the correct ways to answer the phone and techniques that should enrich my learning capabilities. As we were flat ouit, the day went quite quickly!

Then after work i went to Gie's house to spend some time there with her. On knowing i got paid, i volunteered to take her grocery shopping. Before i had to check my bank balance to make sure i had been paid. BOY was i!!! I was quite stunned when i received the news. It was a lot more than i thought it would be :) We bought all the necessities and then saw Sunny. We then waited (again) for him to finish work so we could leave.

On arrival Gie made me her supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Noodles mmmm.... and we were all watching news together including a man wanting to give a mother who abandoned her child a $300,000 home where ever she wanted....id ont get it, why would you want to award someone who would do such a thing to a baby that came out of them?

After that Gie, Sunny and I went to Leeming Rec Centre to see what was happening about our entry into the Indoor Soccer League. Still no concrete answer. I was told I would be told one way or the other on Friday.....i said ok. I then drove them back home said my goodbyes and was on my way again.

Was quite an eventful Wednesday i must say! But i know it will still continue with the blockbuster Ac Milan and Liverpool to come in the early hours of Thursday hehe GOOOO LIVERPOOL!!!!

This is Dum Dum signing out.

Sing-a-long

a voice came down from the sky andsaid Daz use your head.
Had to re-evaluate my thoughts, and think about what god made me for,
had to keep a strong faith and believing, know one day I’d be a star.
But I knew that it wouldn’t come easy,
seen a whole lot a hate and believing,
Despite all the bull shit, I had to still work hard,
To get to where I are.

So, when you hear them calling out Darren, let them keep on calling,
Cause I went through hell and back to get here,
And nobody gave me a tear or a frothy beer.

Kent, England to Australia,
Bless the heart to give to make music with meaning,
Cause I never thought I’d come this far,
With a girlfriend and a small car,
Never thought success would come this quick in the beginning.
And all along I’m sitting there thinking it’s harder for a boy in the mud,
And all I had to do was put my mind to it, and realize it was good food,
Coz I got rid of what held me down,
Just believe I wasn’t turning back,
I had to keep on moving and keep on driving, right here so I wouldn’t get bored.
